Book swapping in London

Donating books to help out CAST

At Books for London we like to help people. Helping people by giving them books to read on the tube and the train, and helping people to give away books that they no longer or want or need, but others do.

So we were really happy when Imogen at the Creative and Supportive Trust (CAST) got in touch to see if we could spare some books. CAST is a charity based in Archway that offers classes (IT, jewellery making and fitness classes) to women vulnerable to offending/re-offending and those with substance misuse or mental health issues. They were starting up a new library for the women, and wanted some books.

We were very happy to help them out, and Helen who runs a bookswap in Sawbridgeworth took a load of books down to central London for them on her bike. We also paid a quick visit to CAST to drop off some books and see their library – it looks great!
